A LiveCD focused toward astronomy.
AstroGarrobo is a LiveCD that will allow us to
learn and spread knowledge about the stars and the cosmos by simply starting it on a computer and enjoying the software that is included on it.
To generate this distribution they have used OpenSUSE Editor, a software application that allows to modify the well known distribution of the chameleon to adapt it to the general needs of a specific project. In
AstroGarrobo enough has been modified for it to be really simple, there are no more programs than those that are specifically necessary, as well as those specific about
astronomy.
The main programs to learn about
astronomy are
Kstar, Celestia, Stellarium and “Where is my M13?” as well as links to some sites about astronomy like
ANASA, LIADA,
Astronomers Without Borders,
Sidewalk Astronomers, Space Tweep Society or Lunar Photo of the Day.
The window manager is
Gnome and some essential application like
Firefox or various configuration utilities are available on this
LiveCD.
